World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally some weapons come with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. This bonus may be more than the damage that a weapon upgrade can do on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and current level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue to rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a good factor, but it could also have negative effects. For items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may make them unusable unless you get a fortunate roll.
Armor items can also be upgraded to increase their performance. This will increase the defense base of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These will increase their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it can sometimes roll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, along with their relative values. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with circling arrows in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's level or connect to the status of your account.

Adding a few upgrades to your armor could make a a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to curses, poisons and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to navigate difficult areas. Generally speaking, the more defense your character is, the more value you will get from every point of health, so it's important to upgrade your armor as much as you can.
To upgrade your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a special side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the associated fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required for each will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in frigid environments with a large number of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you're able to survive a battle with your friends.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to work on upgrading it for physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss fight as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
You can also get some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some upgrades of the helmets and chest armor that let you stealthy battle certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a crafting table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potions simply right-click on it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions, for example are now available with a time of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item. The potion table is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be combined in cauldrons. Additionally, using a potentio on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and replenishes the bottle.
Finally, there are simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effects. The table of potions is organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a small ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't essential such as a Thimble. In some cultures a trinket can be used to express affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new one. A player can upgrade their trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same base level as the previous trinket but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
When the old Trinkets are no longer useful they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value with time. item upgrades can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear and other equipment that they won't replace in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when choosing which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player, then they should upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.
Once they have become useless trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1percent bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing a new one.
